That the House of Representatives legislate to ban conventional building products and methods in the NZ Building Code that prevent sustainable building practice, and legislate instead to ensure sustainable building products and methods are recognised as Acceptable Solutions first and foremost.

Aotearoa NZ faces a new housing crisis of unsustainable conventionally built buildings being built today that will have significant social, financial, & environmental costs in the future; the Government promotes energy efficiency and affordable homes today but does not address the downstream effect that produces unsustainable buildings for tomorrow; banning unsustainable building products and methods such as nails, glues, Gib & liquid waterproof membranes will transform the industry.
